BBDO is the Network of the Year; Almap is second best agency

In the total score according to the Cannes Festival criteria, the 2008 Network of the Year is BBDO, in front of DDB and Saatchi & Saatchi, second and third places respectively. The three networks repeat last years positions in the exact same order.

AlmapBBDO finishes in second place in the race for the Agency of the Year award (in which are only considered the Film, Press, Outdoor and Radio areas). The Brazilian agency collected the total of one Gold Lion, six Silver Lions and five Bronze ones. Ahead of it, only BBDO New York, with one Grand Prix, five Gold Lions, one Silver and three Bronze ones.

In 2007, the title was given to Saatchi & Saatchi New York. DDB London came in second place while the third position was taken by Ogilvy & Mather Singapore.

The festival’s 55th edition Palm d’Or, granted to the best producing house, went to MJZ from the USA, which had been fourth place in 2007 – Smuggler was the first last year. In this edition, behind MJZ are the following producing houses: RSA Films, from the US; Gorgeous Enterprises, from London; O Positive, from the US; Biscuit Filmworks, from the US; Rattling Stick, from the United Kingdom; Phenomena, from India; Hungry Man, from the US; Landia, from Argentina; and Partizan, from the United Kingdom.
